Day 16 - Someone who inspires me

Wow. This has been the toughest one yet.

I’m pretty sure that everyone that stays close in my life is inspiring to me.. I think it is a subconscious prerequisite of my friendships. So that said, there are so many people that inspire me in so many different ways, that I have no idea how to pick just one person.

While picking someone famous feels somewhat less genuine to me, I could sit here for hours describing what inspires me in each of my friends, so instead I am going with

Eric Peterson

Born and raised a Saskatchewan boy he not only went out and found Canadian theatre he had a part in founding modern Canadian theatre and is one of the reasons it even exists today. From Theatre Passe Muraille to the creation of Billy Bishop Goes to War he went out and did it and made it work even when it looked like it couldn’t…

And then he played a character inpsired by my own Grandpa on Corner Gas (and was supposedly the nicest actor on the whole set according to the head carpentar.. poking his head in the shop every morning to say hello).

65 years old and still as active as ever… If I ever wound up in a situation where I was even the dresser for this man, I’m afraid I would be speechless for the whole run of it.
