Day 13 - Something I’m proud of
My team. Yesterday was the worst, longest, scariest day of my career. Our little sick actor thought he was better and well enough to head out on tour with us yesterday morning. So we set off at 7:30 am for our first day of tour… all the way to Sandy Bay, seven hours north where the roads stop…
We made it there, in good spirits, we set up, we were ready to perform for a group of about 80 people… Aaron was not ok.
I had to stop the show within 10 minutes of starting, and while phoning my GM and talking to our hosts about the problem my crew took care of Aaron. In half an hour we had him at the clinic and tore everything down and packed away waiting for what was next. The other Arron stayed with little Aaron at the clinic until they released him and we made the group decision to drive the 7 hours home while he was full of gravol and passed out. Darren drove almost the whole way because my biggest fear is someone vomitting and my nerves were shot and if he had started violently throwing up on the drive home I’m sure I would have gone off the road.
At 5 am we were all in our beds.. and everyone was ready to go again by 2:30pm today (we’ve lost Aaron for the duration… obviously).
And I don’t know what I would have done without this.exact.team. because they were amazing and did everything and more than what I needed of them.
