Spring forward, fall back down.

I realize I haven’t been here. At all. Life’s been full around here and I plan to write all about it soon. I hope until then my frequent Facebook photo sharing has been able to tide (? this is one of those words you often say and never think about how they are supposed to look in a sentence) you over.

However, today I did do some work on Anne and I’s Oscar Challenge blog in preparation for our first attempt at watching a movie together over Skype tonight!!!

Day 2 —- Every little thing that was easy to do in Saskatchewan is extremely frustrating today.

Right now it seems to take me one whole day to finish every small task I need to finish. Between paying bills, figuring out how to get out of the M&M Meats parking lot and cleaning off enough space (after Rob … and myself amazingly, from the last time I was here. Whoops) to work in, I am not short of things to accomplish and feel like I’ve put in an 8 hour day.

But I got a last minute call asking me to put lunch on, a quick afternoon coffee chat on the phone with Rob’s mom and some cute new garden flip flops from London Drugs (very quickly becoming my safe haven. Amazingly comforting that every London Drugs is virtually the same.) So, lots of frustration, but lots of smiles too.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll get the mint planted and some more pictures up on Facebook… Maybe.

I got up north this Sunday and thought right then and there that there would be no redeeming qualities to this week. And this week up north was tough and it was long, but I was wrong. It was a week full of redeeming moments…

Like: a surprising 500 little faces waiting for us in La Loche. A delightful little cabin in the woods that felt like my Jan Lake home (filling me full of Jan Lake regret). Two fully furnished apartments waiting for us on our afternoon off in Pinehouse with a nice kitchen to cook our own food and a clean bathtub to soak in. Plans for the best Vancouver date ever <3. An adorabley shy waitress in Pinehouse that beamed at us when we walked back in the next day. My new rubber boots outfitted with liners for the ever changing weather conditions. Roast Beef and Mashed potatoes. Sunrises over frozen lakes. The chillest, hippest, youngest Principal in SK in Jans Bay and a feast of Hot Dogs and Macaroni salad. Adorable school house dogs. Birthday shots and Birthday cakes. An old Jan Laker in a tour stop over town. Little guys who can really play the guitar. Free Pizza for an appreciated performance…

And a great team of people to tackle every freak Saskatchewan snowstorm with.

Its Friday. I’m home. Phew.
